Kristin Trotter
Head Coach Kristin Trotter is a well-known and respected figure in our volleyball community. She previously served as head coach from 2019 to 2021, overseeing the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity programs while laying the foundation for the success Pacelli Volleyball enjoys today. After a military move took her and her family to Hawaii, Coach Trotter returned to Columbus and rejoined the Lady Vikings program in 2025 - leading the team to the 2025 GIAA AAA State Championship on October 11, 2025.
Originally from Maryland, Coach Trotter began her volleyball journey in high school as a setter before transitioning to outside hitter for varsity and libero for club play. She attended Coastal Carolina University (CCU) in South Carolina, where she co-founded the university’s first-ever club volleyball team and served as its president from 2007–2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Marine Science with a minor in Biology in 2013.
While still in college, Coach Trotter led the Grand Strand Juniors Volleyball Club’s 15U team to a national championship and went on to coach players ranging in age from 14 to 17 through 2017. She also coached two high school JV teams and served as an assistant coach for a varsity squad that earned second place in the South Carolina State Championship.
In 2017, she relocated to Kansas with her husband, Tanner, due to his military service. There, she coached for the Kansas-based Jets Volleyball Club, guiding a national-level 16U team to an impressive season that included four tournament championships, a seventh-place regional finish, and a 17th-place national finish at the Show Me National Qualifier in Kansas City.
Coach Trotter first joined the Viking family in 2019, when the military brought the Trotters to Columbus, Georgia. In 2022, her journey continued to Oahu, Hawaii, where she immersed herself in the island’s unique volleyball culture - coaching 17U club volleyball and competing in adult leagues and tournaments.
During her time in Hawaii, Kristin and Tanner welcomed their first child, Kalei Lillianna Trotter, who is now 13 months old. Off the court, Coach Trotter enjoys spending time with animals, playing pickleball, singing karaoke, and soaking up the sunshine outdoors.
“Returning to Pacelli truly feels like coming home,” said Coach Trotter. “This program, the school, and the community hold a special place in my heart. I’m incredibly proud of how far the Lady Vikings have come, and I’m honored to be part of their journey once again. Winning the state championship this season is a testament to their dedication and heart. My goal is to continue fostering a culture of growth, teamwork, and excellence...on and off the court.”
