The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings are gearing up for an exciting 2023-2024 boys' basketball season, seeking redemption after a heart-wrenching loss in the GIAA State Championship last year by just one point to Stratford Academy. Head Coach Corry Black, now entering his 8th year at the helm, is determined to lead the Vikings to victory and has strategically crafted one of the most challenging schedules to prepare his team for a shot at the state championship.

Tough Schedule, Strong Preparation
The Vikings' home opener is set for December 5th against Bethlehem Christian Academy, marking the beginning of an intense journey. On December 8th, the team welcomes Christian Heritage, the reigning #1 team in GHSA Single A, to their home turf, "The Land." The following day, the Vikings face off against the GHSA AAAAAA Valdosta Wildcats from South Georgia.

As December progresses, the Vikings will host GHSA AAAAAAA Douglas County on December 15th and then hit the road to participate in the Sandy Spiel Showcase, where they will go head-to-head with South Paulding, a top 10 GHSA-ranked program, on December 16th.

Warner Robins Showcase and Holiday Challenges
The holiday season promises to be demanding for the Vikings as they travel to the Warner Robins Showcase on December 22nd-23rd. Here, they will face another pair of tough opponents - Warner Robins and GHSA AAAAAA Tift County Blue Devils, the alma mater of Coach Corry Black.

From December 27th to 29th, the Vikings will venture to South Georgia for the Lee County Showcase, where they will play three challenging games, setting the stage for a competitive start to the new year.

On January 2nd, 2024, the Vikings kick off the year with a matchup against another top-tier program, facing off against #5 GHSA AAAAAAA Newton High School.

Region Play and Notable Non-Conference Games
Following the rigorous non-conference schedule, the Vikings dive into GIAA Region play, where they will contend with formidable teams, including the highly regarded Heritage out of Newnan.

January and February bring additional non-conference challenges, including a showdown with the #1 GHSA AAA Sandy Creek at Sandy Creek and an away game against AAAAAAA GHSA program Douglas County. On January 27th, the Vikings will face the hostile environment of Baldwin in Middle Georgia.

A highlight of the season is a special game at the NBA Atlanta Hawks arena, where the Vikings will take on another top-notch GHSA program, GAC, just before the Atlanta Hawks go head-to-head with the Golden State Warriors.

Eyes on the Prize
With a challenging schedule designed to test their mettle, Coach Corry Black and his staff are optimistic that the Vikings will emerge battle-tested and ready to vie for the GIAA State Championship. The championship, hosted at Columbus State University, awaits the team's relentless pursuit of redemption and glory. The St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings are poised for an unforgettable season filled with high-stakes matchups and the determination to seize victory at every turn.
