Christy Bates

Christy Bates has been an elementary school teacher for over 20 years. She has taught Pre-K4 at St. Anne-Pacelli for the past 13 years.

An avid tennis player, Coach Bates first picked up her racket when she was around 10 years old. She played on her high school tennis team and earned a scholarship to junior college. She competed in the National Championships in Tucson, Arizona with her team.

Coach Bates continues to play on adult tennis league teams locally, and has competed and won multiple local, state and sectional championships. In November 2015, she was the proud captain of CORTA’s USTA 40+ 9.0 Mixed Doubles Tennis National Champions. She has coached Elementary and Middle School Tennis at St. Anne-Pacelli for the past 10 years and is extremely excited to be coaching our High School Vikings Tennis Team for the second year in a row. “Many of the current high school tennis players played for me in elementary and middle school,” she notes. “It has been great to see how much their skill level and love for the game has grown.” Coach Bates says she is looking forward to building St. Anne-Pacelli’s tennis program to be one of the top programs in the state.
